Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting, financial reporting, and purchasing functions for an LA based client. This role oversees daily financial operations, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and provides strategic financial insights to leadership. The Controller will manage Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll coordination, budgeting, audits, cash flow activities, and procurement while supervising the maintenance of accurate financial records and internal controls.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing complex financial workflows across multiple divisions. This position plays a critical role in financial planning, regulatory reporting, supplier management, and annual compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee general accounting operations, including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, prepare financial statements, and provide accurate reporting to leadership.
  • Coordinate annual and quarterly budgets, audits, tax filings, and compliance activities.
  • Lead payroll processing through external providers.
  • Direct purchasing activities, negotiate supplier pricing, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and documentation.
  • Support insurance renewals, financial studies, and cross-functional financial projects.
  • Manage period-end and year-end closing activities across multiple business units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (7-10+ overall)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial systems, and multi-division reporting.
  • ERP Experience Required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
